On November 24, 2025, the National Final of the 2nd Food Safety Rapid Testing Competition, part of the 2025 Belt & Road and BRICS Skills Development and Technology Innovation Competition, successfully concluded at the Qingyuan Campus of Guangdong Polytechnic of Science and Trade. The event was hosted by the China Chapter of the BRICS Business Council, the International Alliance of Skills Development for Belt & Road and BRICS, and the Belt & Road and BRICS Training Center for Skills Development and Technology Innovation; jointly organized by the China Association of Inventions and the China Center for International People-to-People Exchange, MOE; and undertaken by the China Section of BRICS Business Council Skills Development, Applied Technology and Innovation Working Group. Co-organizers included Guangdong Polytechnic of Science and Trade, Dayuan & Oasis FoodTech Ltd., Beijing ARC Xinxing Science & Technology Co., Ltd., and BRICS Academy of Skills Development and Technology Innovation (Xiamen).
The four-day competition featured student and teacher groups, attracting over 500 participants from 75 institutions across 23 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities. Competitors demonstrated skills in core rapid food safety testing technologies, including organophosphorus pesticide residue analysis, lead and cadmium detection in grains, and rapid metronidazole testing, with evaluation based on procedure, data accuracy, and technical application. The student group awarded 11 gold, 21 silver, and 32 bronze prizes, while the teacher group awarded 6 gold, 12 silver, and 18 bronze prizes.

The event provided a high-level platform for exchange and innovation, promoting industry-education integration in food safety. Guangdong Polytechnic of Science and Trade earned high praise for both organization and participant performance, and will continue enhancing its food programs, transforming teaching and competition resources, strengthening industry-education collaboration and international cooperation, and contributing to regional development and the advancement of the food industry.
