Product Description

Histamine is a biogenic amine naturally present in many foods. It is also a contaminant mostly found in fishes, such as tuna, mackerel, kingfish and bonito, as well as other seafood products when they are improperly handled or stored. The consumption of foods containing high levels of histamine may lead to an allergy-like food poisoning. Therefore, monitoring histamine levels is essential for ensuring food safety and preventing foodborne illnesses, maintaining product quality.

The FSTest Histamine Rapid Test Kit is based onsandwich lateral flow immunochromatography assay. The test cassette has a testing window for the observation of assay running and result reading. The testing window has an invisible T (test) zoneand a C (control) zone before running the assay. When the treatedsample was applied into the sample hole on the device, the liquid will laterally flow through the surface of the test strip and react withthe pre-coated recombinant antigens. The intensity of color on the T test line has an opposite correspondence with the histamineconcentration in the sample. The C line should always appear after a sample is applied, which indicates a valid result. By comparing thesignal intensity between the T line and C line, the device canindicate the presence of histamine in the sample.

Application:

Rapid detection of histamine levels in Fish and Seafood.

Sample Preparation

1 Take 100g of representative sample and mash it.  Weigh 1g ofthe evenly mashed sample into a 15mL centrifuge tube.  Add 10mL of histamine extracting solution and shake vigorously for 3min.

2 Centrifuge the above samples at 4000rpm for 3min, take the supernatant and dilute it in a 5mL centrifuge tube according to the following scheme, mix well and ready for test

Procedure & steps

1 Before use, ensure the cassette is between 20 to 40°C, and put it on a flat surface.

2 Pipette100 μL of sample solution into the sample hole of the cassette.

3 Interpret the results after 5-8 min. Results are invalid after 8min.
