Recently, the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) issued a joint statement warning that global food safety is facing severe challenges driven by climate change and supply chain disruptions. The statement highlights that global warming and the increasing frequency of extreme weather events act as "amplifiers" for food safety risks. Abnormal temperatures and humidity not only create ideal breeding grounds for the accelerated proliferation of foodborne pathogens, such as Salmonella and E. coli, but also significantly expand the contamination range of mycotoxins (e.g., aflatoxins) in agricultural crops.

Furthermore, the report emphasizes the vulnerability of the global food supply chain. Under multiple international pressures, supply chain disruptions can easily lead to the market influx of unverified, unsafe food substitutes. Consequently, the WHO and FAO have urgently called for the establishment of more resilient on-site monitoring systems and rapid response mechanisms worldwide to address the increasingly complex threat of cross-border foodborne diseases.

In response to this global public health alert, Dayuan & Oasis FoodTech Ltd. (FSTest) is actively stepping up to provide essential technical support to mitigate supply chain vulnerabilities. Targeting the core issues identified in the statement, FSTest leverages its advanced rapid testing technologies in Foodborne Pathogens and Mycotoxins to offer efficient on-site screening solutions.

Through our rapid microbial count plates and mycotoxin test kits, global agricultural, dairy, and food processing enterprises can achieve low-cost, high-throughput rapid testing at every node of the supply chain. FSTest will continue to utilize precise rapid detection technology to assist the industry in intercepting contaminated food at the earliest opportunity, jointly building a robust food safety defense against the impacts of climate change.
