Advance copy of Rapid Food Safety Testing: Principles and Applications
A new application-oriented textbook, Rapid Food Safety Testing: Principles and Applications, is scheduled for publication by Chemical Industry Press in August 2026.
Jointly initiated by South China Agricultural University and Guangdong Dayuan & Oasis Food Safety Technology Co., Ltd., the textbook was developed with contributions from universities, research institutes, testing organizations and industry partners across China. As the international business platform of Dayuan & Oasis Group, FSTest is pleased to share this achievement with its global partners.
Connecting Knowledge with Industry Practice
Rapid testing supports food production, quality control and regulatory inspection. Its effective application requires not only appropriate technologies, but also sound sampling, sample preparation, method selection and result interpretation.
Across 11 chapters, the textbook presents the principles and applications of major rapid testing approaches, including:
· Sample preparation and physicochemical or colorimetric methods
· Raman spectroscopy, immunoassays and cholinesterase inhibition
· PCR, isothermal amplification and microbial chromogenic detection
A dedicated chapter on smart food safety supervision also explores how big data, the Internet of Things and artificial intelligence can support testing management and traceability. QR-linked demonstration videos support classroom teaching and independent study.
Strengthening Standards and Quality Awareness
The textbook includes a chapter on standards and method-evaluation requirements for rapid food safety testing in China. By connecting technical operation with verification and quality principles, it encourages readers to consider whether a method is reliable and fit for its intended purpose.
The publication reflects Dayuan & Oasis Group’s continued commitment to technological innovation, professional education and collaboration across industry, academia and research.
