1. Product Overview

FSTest Staphylococcus aureus Count Plate is a ready-to-use, single-use dehydrated culture medium system engineered for the rapid, precise, and cost-effective detection and enumeration of Staphylococcus aureus in food, beverage, and environmental samples.

Formulated with imported selective media and highly specific chromogenic substrates, the Staphylococcus aureus Count Plate is an all-in-one rapid testing solution. It enables reliable pathogen detection in just 15–24 hours, eliminating complex traditional preparation and dramatically streamlining your lab workflow.

2. Key Benefits

  • Fast Time-to-Result: Delivers definitive colony counts in just 15–24 hours, saving up to 24–48 hours compared to traditional culture and MPN methods.

  • Ready-to-Use & Zero Media Prep: No glass Petri dishes, autoclaving, or agar preparation required—simply inoculate, incubate, and read.

  • High Sensitivity & Accuracy: Detection limit as low as 3–10 CFU/mL (g), ensuring compliance with strict international food hygiene standards.

  • Unambiguous Visual Reading: Highly specific chromogenic reaction produces vivid blue-green colonies, drastically reducing manual counting errors and false results.

  • Space & Cost Efficiency: Ultra-thin paper-film format takes up minimal storage and incubator space, while significantly reducing biohazard disposal waste and shipping costs.

  • Flexible Transport & Long Shelf Life: Stable at ambient temperatures (up to 15 days of room temperature shipping without cold chain reliance) with a 18-month shelf life under standard refrigeration.

4. Applicable Sample Types

Ideal for quality control, hygiene audits, and routine release testing across diverse sectors:

Bakery & Confectionery Products Dairy Products & Milk Bottled Water & Water Samples Meat & Poultry Seafood & Marine Products    Pet Food & Raw Materials Fruits & Vegetables Prepared & Processed Foods Nutraceuticals Bakery & Confectionery Surface & Environmental Swabs

5. Test Procedure

STEP 1
Inoculate
Place plate on flat surface. Lift upper film and pipette 1.0 mL of liquid sample onto the center of the bottom film.
STEP 2
Incubate
Slowly roll down the top film to avoid bubbles. Stack plates (up to 20 high) film-side up and incubate at 36 ± 1 °C for 15-24 hours.
STEP 3
Interpret
Count purplish red colonies using the built-in grid. Results can be counted manually or with an automated reader.

6. Performance & Validation

  • Detection Sensitivity & Limit: Features a lower limit of detection of 3 CFU/mL for Staphylococcus aureus testing.

  • Method Performance & Equivalency: Demonstrates high accuracy with no statistically significant difference in quantitative recovery compared to standard reference methods, including Nutrient Agar, Baird-Parker medium, and chromogenic assay counting.

Compatible Instruments

  • MC1000 Automatic Colony Counter: High-throughput image capture, automated colony recognition, & data export.

  • Microbial Test Sampling Box: Portable kit for field sampling & environmental surface testing.

  • Constant Temp Incubator: Standard 36°C laboratory incubation support.
