FSTest Aerobic Count Plate (Gel-Type) – Superior Enumeration for Food Safety

Introduction

Introducing the FSTest Aerobic Count Plate (Gel-Type), a ready-to-use, disposable culture medium system designed for the rapid and accurate enumeration of aerobic bacteria (Total Viable Count) in food, raw materials, and water samples.

By integrating a standard nutrient medium with a cold water-soluble absorbent gel and a high-contrast dehydrogenase indicator (TTC), our gel-type plates transform complex microbial testing into a streamlined, high-performance workflow.

Applications:

Ideal for food, beverage, dairy, meat, seafood, pet food, and environmental monitoring, including:

✔ Bakery & confectionery (microbial testing in bakery products)

✔ Dairy & bottled water (total plate count in dairy, water quality testing)

✔ Meat, poultry & seafood (microbial contamination in meat)

✔ Processed foods & nutraceuticals (food safety testing for processed foods)

Key Advantages & Performance

Compared to traditional paper-based or non-gel alternatives, the FSTest Gel-Type system offers significant structural and functional improvements:

Ø Integrated Gel Technology: The all-in-one gel molding eliminates the need for filter paper or dry film structures. This prevents the common issue of "colonies growing under the paper," ensuring every colony is visible on the surface.

Ø Superior Clarity & Counting Range: Even with high-load samples, our plates maintain clarity for up to 500 CFU, whereas traditional paper-based or non-gel alternatives may face counting difficulties due to smaller effective areas and colony overlapping.

Ø Anti-Spreading Control: Advanced gel formulation ensures zero diffusion of colonies. While competitors like Brand M RAC may experience spreading with specific bacteria like Bacillus subtilis, FSTest maintains distinct, isolated red spots for precise reading.

Ø Enhancd Compatibility: The uniform colony distribution and high contrast make these plates ideal for both manual counting and automated colony counters, reducing operator error and "missed counts" common in paper-based alternatives.

Quick Operating Guide

Step 1: Dilute-Mix 25 g/mL of sample with 225 mL of sterile diluent, then perform serial dilutions (1: 100, etc.) as needed.

Step 2: Inoculate-Lift the top film, add 1 mL of sample to the center, and replace the film carefully.

Step 3: Spread & Set-Use a spreader to distribute the sample evenly across the circular area and let it sit for 10 seconds to solidify.

Step 4: Incubate-Stack plates (up to 20) and incubate at 36 ± 1°C for 24 ± 1 hours (or 30 ± 1℃ for 48 ± 2 hours for seafood).

Step 5: Count-Identify colonies as distinct red spots and calculate the final concentration using plates with 30–300 CFU.
