7 mins Rapid Readout Time | 2–4 µg/kg Strict β-Lactam LOD | 96 Tests Commercial Pack | 18 Months Long Shelf Life |
The FSTest® β-Lactams + Tetracyclines Rapid Test Strip is an immunochromatographic assay designed for the simultaneous qualitative detection of β-Lactam and Tetracycline antibiotic residues in dairy products, including raw milk, pasteurized milk, and milk powder.
Utilizing a dual-line lateral flow test strip format, the assay features pre-coated recombinant antigens that react with target residues, providing visual screening results directly observed by the naked eye without requiring complex laboratory instrumentation. Within just 7 minutes, it produces clear visual results to enforce compliance with international Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs) at raw milk intake stations and processing plants.
Dual Antibiotic Target Screening: Simultaneously detects Tetracyclines (T1 line) and β-Lactams (T2 line) residues in a single strip assay.
High Sensitivity & Broad Spectrum: Detects a wide variety of Penicillins, Cephalosporins, and Tetracyclines down to low ppb levels.
Rapid On-Site Workflow: Direct sample application with visual result interpretation in just 7 minutes.
Flexible Incubation Options: Suitable for room temperature testing (≥20°C) or controlled incubator-assisted testing at 40°C.
Long Storage Life: Stored at 2–8°C for up to 18 months; permits room-temperature transport and field deployment for up to 30 days.

Designed for quality verification across liquid and powder dairy commodities:
STEP 1 Preparation Equilibrate milk to 20–40°C. For milk powder, mix 1 g powder with 9 mL distilled water until completely dissolved. | STEP 2 Sample Incubation Place microwells in incubator (or room temp if >20°C). Pipette 150 µL milk into microwell, mix thoroughly by pipetting, and incubate for 3 min. | STEP 3 Assay Execution Insert test strip into the microwell and start timing immediately for capillary lateral flow. | STEP 4 Read at 7 Mins Read visual lines strictly at 7 minutes. Results become invalid after 10 minutes due to post-reaction chemical shifts. |
Negative (-): Control line (C), T1 line (Tetracyclines), and T2 line (β-Lactams) all appear dark and distinct. (Both classes below cutoff).
T1 Positive (+): T1 line is significantly lighter than C line or invisible → Tetracyclines residue detected.
T2 Positive (+): T2 line is significantly lighter than C line or invisible → β-Lactams residue detected.
T1 & T2 Positive (+): Both T1 and T2 lines are lighter than C line or invisible → Both target classes detected.
Invalid: Control (C) line fails to appear, regardless of T1 or T2 line presence. Re-testing with a new strip is required.
Adhere to strict operational parameters to ensure maximum screening accuracy:
Qualitative Screening Purpose: Engineered strictly for rapid qualitative prescreening and preliminary field audits. Confirmatory laboratory testing is recommended if necessary.
Air Exposure Limit: Use strips within 30 minutes after pulling from vial to prevent dampness and loss of reactivity.
Meticulous Pipetting: Thoroughly resuspend dry microwell reagents via repeated fluidic pipetting; improper mixing impairs line color development.
Environmental Limits: Maintain operating relative humidity at 30%–80%. Avoid direct wind currents and testing above 40°C.
Kit Components Included: 96 Test strips, 96 Precoated Microwells, and 1 User Manual.
Required Auxiliary Equipment (Not Provided): Micropipettes (150 µL), timer, and incubator (recommended if ambient temperature <20°C).
